INFILTRATION AND SOUND(E)SCAPE
Wanna get away >from it all? Tired with the daily routine?
To listen to music can be like entering another dimension, an escape from reality, but it can also be like travelling in time, something that triggers memory, so that places and situations connected to the sound are coming to mind. The five invited artists of Infiltration and Sound(e)scape examine and contextualize sound experiences and acoustic environments of the everyday life in (urban) space, including scientific ways of looking at things Bogomir Ecker´s themes are scene perception and communication, in particular sight and hearing.
He infiltrates the gallery space with a metallic ear sculpture.
Cao Fei?s video Hip Hop Fukuoka (2005) captures every day people moving to a steady rhythm that appears like a performative re-enactment of music video of the early days of MTV.
Rock is my Life, and this is my Song is a quote from a Bachman-Turner-Overdrive? record that becomes the focus point of Jakob Jensen´s sculptural sound installation.
In his paper drawings Carlos Roque mixes popular culture and comic books that visually examines urban culture and the predominant role of the values of rock music.
Stefan Roigk creates a black and white wall piece.
It is a sound piece without hearing sound, paper collage, an assemblage of photographs and text fragments, put together in form of a score.
